FREE FAA SAFETY SEMINAR   "Tower Talk" will be hosted by FAASTeam rep Valerie Salven on May 20 starting at 7PM. "Was he talking to me?" "Why did he say that?" "What does he want me to do?" If you've ever asked yourself these questions when communicating with ATC, don't miss this presentation! We will discuss current KLEX ATC procedures and you'll learn about anticipated procedural changes, radar and other equipment upgrades, ...and YES!, you'll hear more "Archie" Award recordings.

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR
Arlynn McMahon has been named national FAA 2009 'Flight Instructor of the Year.'  For the last 45 years the FAA has recognized the Best of Breed in the field of flight instruction, for contributions to aviation education and flight safety. This awards program is a cooperative effort between the FAA and a dozen industry sponsors.  Congrats Arlynn!

KEEPING DOWN THE PRICE OF GOING UP
The MTSU/AOPA Microsoft Flight Simulator X PCATD is now installed in the Aero-Tech classroom and ready for flight missions or maneuvers/procedures practice.  Anyone may use the PCATD free.  However, priority scheduling will be given to those students enrolled in the research project.

IIf you or someone you know is enrolled in private pilot training at Aero-Tech, having less than five flight hours and are interested in enrolling in the MTSU/AOPA research email, call or see Arlynn or Charlie. 

Aero-Tech is proud to have been selected by Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) as one of five flight schools nationally to participate in a Microsoft Flight Simulator X research project, funded by the Air Safety Foundation of the AOPA to determine if using MFSX reduces flight hours for private pilot certification.
