But, you
don't have to be a career pilot to qualify; if you are considering becoming pilot for recreation or sport, you are still eligible.
The loan process is

For Sport Pilot training through Airline Transport Pilot. For refresher, recurrent or initial certification. Sallie
Mae's easy monthly payments must makes it easier to fit training into your budget with one monthly payment.

You may borrow from $1,000 to $30,000 or more, with flexible terms, low monthly payments, and no prepayment penalties. There is even an option to delay principal payments until after graduation. Plus, after making 24 on-time payments, you may apply to have your co-borrower released.
Complete the online application or print and bring it in to us for help in filling it out. We'll answer your questions and send it to SallieMae for
you. SallieMae will send the completed loan documents - but you are in no way obligated to accept. Look it over, consider their terms, then decide. It's simple. And,
even if you decide to continue with SallieMae to fund your training, you are under no obligation to train at Aero-Tech. But we hope you do!

To maximize the efficiency of the online process, we highly recommend that the borrower and cosigner are prepared to complete the application in one sitting. There is an option to "Save for Later" at the bottom of the "Credit Results Page"; choosing this option will dramatically slow down the application process.
In addition, the following items will also be required when applying on-line.
Borrower:
- Driver's license number (if you do not have a license, enter N/A)
- E-mail address (if you do not have an email address, enter N/A)
- Prior address (if you have moved in the last year)
- Two references (name, address, and phone number).
- Disbursement dates/amounts (school will provide this to you)
- The co-signer's e-mail address (if applicable)
Co-Borrower:
- Borrower's first and last name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth
- Confirmation number and pin (borrower is provided this information to be presented to co-signer).
- Driver's license number (if you do not have a license, enter N/A)
- One reference (name, address, and phone number).
- Your e-mail address (if you do not have an email address, enter N/A)
Note:
the borrower should contact the co-signer with the confirmation number and PIN to allow the co-signer to apply. SLM will provide instructions to the co-signer on how to apply, but can not provide
the confirmation number and PIN.
If a
borrower or co-signer "Saves for Later" during their initial application process, in order to complete the loan application at a later time, they must go to www.slmfinancial.com
and choose "Lookup Previous Decision", select loan and log in. Once logged in, select "Loans in Process", select loan. Credit decision and rates and fees will be displayed, if approved.
Borrower or co-signer should select one of the first 2 options to complete their loan application.
