Customers Speak

I want to thank you for the excellent flight instruction I have.received over the years from you. I thought our last recurrent work was the best yet. I was astounded when, at the beginning, you asked me what I thought I needed. Then we addressed those areas.
     Thank you,
     Barry Morris,

The best career
you'll ever have!

Part 141 versus Part 61

Most instructors working at the FBO and flying clubs are regulated by Part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Generous latitude is allowed in the training, so long as the candidate obtains a minimum score on FAA exams.

A much higher standard for flight schools is set forth in part 141. To be a Pilot School, a flight training company must pass rigorous inspections of its syllabus, training course outline, operations, maintenance procedures, staff, instructors, aircraft and management. The standards are maintained by surprise inspections by the FAA.

In recognition of meeting those rigorous standards, an approved Pilot School, like Aero-Tech, is permitted to graduate pilot candidates with less flight time than candidates nominated under Part 61. Aero-Tech is permitted to issue graduation certificates with only 190 hoursl. This represents a considerable saving in time and money for you.

Financing Available

FAA regulations are only a matter of enrollment. During training we don't talk about part 61 or 141 because all pilots are trained to the highest standard.

The Commercial Pilot License is the beginning of an aviation career.  You will spend a portion of your training in extensive cross country flights to exciting destinations.

Our normal, all-inclusive FAA Approved 141 120-hour commercial course will normally cost around $20,000 and will generally take about 4 weeks of full time trainin. It can also be completed part time schedule requiring about 9 months or longer.

For pilots who have already logged a considerable number of hours, our Finish-Up Course includes 10-hours of flight in a complex airplane, will normally cost about $2,900 and can be accomplished in as little as one week.

Aero-Tech is also proud to offer a unique combined Commercial/Flight Instructor Course that issues both certificates in about 2 weeks of full time training. More information on the combined course is located on the Combined Commercial & Flight Instructor Course Page.

Use of the simulator will reduce the cost and provide controlled flight scenarios. Most students prefer to fly in the C-172, C-182 and Simulator. It is most cost effective to earn the single-engine commercial certificate first then add on multiengine commercial privedges after completing the multiengine course.

Stop in and visit usl to receive a complimentary tour, information and a complete cost breakdown. You should be at least 18 years old and be in good physical condition.  Additionally, you must possess an instrument rating, or be co-enrolled in the instrument Course.
