Boot Camp is a flight instructor peer-mentoring program for new employees at Aero-Tech. It is our employee standardization, orientation and value-add training for CFIs. It's organized as a 12-week program. However, you are not required to complete each week's work within the week, nor are you required to complete the program within 12 weeks. But ... graduation is required for Aero-Tech to consider your 90-day new-hire probationary period to be complete! The objectives of BOOT CAMP are to:
- Increase instructional effectiveness
- Enhance safety during flight instruction
- Promote aviation citizenship

WEEK 1: In the first week, the new instructor will complete orientation training in
core subjects plus the following modules. The objective this week is to teach instructors to properly answer customer questions concerning Aero-Tech and
aviation; and instruct Private Pilot Candidates in the C-172 fleet.
For More Help: As your schedule permits, ride backseat with senior instructors to learn your way around our airport, airspace
and practice areas. Volunteer for non-rev reposition flights for additional (but not paid) flight time.

WEEK 2: In the second week, the new instructor is assigned 4 days available to
fly with private pilot candidates plus 2 days at dispatch. While at dispatch this week the instructor is oriented to the standards and objectives of the instrument -rating
course and learn to teach in the PCATD. You will also learn to proctor FAA Knowledge Exams and to set up student enrollment appointments.

senior instructors to gain exposure to the local airspace, IAPs, airports and procedures. Volunteer for non-rev reposition flights for additional (but not paid) flight time.

WEEK 3: In the third week, the new instructor is assigned 4 days available to fly
with private and instrument candidates. Additionally the instructor will be assigned two days at dispatch. While at dispatch this week, the instructor is oriented you to
the standards and objectives of the commercial pilot course and to prepare to fly in the retractable gear Piper Arrow. You will also learn to teach using scenarios and
to manage risk factors during instruction.

WEEK 4: This week the new instructor is assigned 4 days available to fly with
private, instrument and commercial candidates and two days at dispatch. While at dispatch this week, the CFI will add to their understanding of teaching using
practical application and be able to conduct an effective BFR for pilots having a variety of backgrounds. You will get additional ideas on managing the safety of each flight.

WEEK 5: This week the new instructor is assigned 4 days available to fly with
private, instrument, commercial and BFR candidates and 2 days at dispatch. While at dispatch this week, the CFI will expand their knowledge of teaching,
understanding of risk factors and safety of flight.

WEEK 6: While at dispatch this week, the instructor will become familiar with the remainder of the Aero-Tech fleet. No, you won't be checked out, but you must
be able to answer customer questions about the aircraft, its performance and specifications. CFIs may use their employee discount and Proficiency Account to
pay for checkouts – or, volunteer to participate in one of the many non-revenue flights to log additional hours in make and model. Remember - fly safe!

WEEK 7: While at dispatch this week, the instructor will learn how to manage student's success and make more money as a professional instructor.
WEEK 8: While at dispatch this week, the instructor will learn about the Master Instructor Program and how to grow as an aviation citizen to promote our culture of
safety.

working on requirements – bring your plan and timetable to meet requirements to the Chief. You can still earn the M
-CFI pay raise without having the 2-years met. Ask how!
- Schedule a speech to be given at a civic club before the
end of Week 12.
- Write an article to have published.
- Survey the NTSB database of a make and model you
commonly fly
WEEK 9: While at dispatch this week, the instructor will review flight department
procedures. There was much thrown at the new CFI in the beginning – so let's review to make sure you're comfortable with the info! Yes, you must take the quiz a
second time to receive credit for Week 9, buy hey - you're gettin' a raise!

WEEK 10: While at dispatch this week, you will review specific techniques for
uncomfortable flight conditions and situations. However, most of the week will be completing the many assignments you've been working on:

WEEK 11: While at dispatch this week, you will be oriented to the standards and
objectives of Aero-Tech's instructor course and unique CFI peer-mentoring philosophy for a safe aviation industry.
WEEK 12: While at dispatch this week, the instructor will learn to take their
aviation career to new heights by introducing aircraft sales featuring the Cessna fleet family

- Conduct a sales demo ride under the supervision of Jim or
Arlynn
- Send an e-mail to the Chief with your suggestions for
training future successful flight instructors
- Complete all Boot Camp projects

- Enroll in CFI Continuing Education at Aero-Tech for more
learning opportunities and pay raises
